This painting of Lavender fields in Provence is one of my favorites. I put it into a show in Fairfield last March and it sold on opening night. The paint was still wet!
Ashford artist,
Nancy C. Marshall began her pursuit of an art career at age five when
her mother presented her with her first set of oil paints. Inspired by
her high school mentor, J. Neil Bittner, she attended Paier College of
Art in Hamden, Connecticut where she studied fine art painting.
Following a move to Ashford in 1995, she began painting with
Connecticut Impressionist, Shauna Shane and became immersed in the
American Impressionist movement.
Whether it is oil or pastel, her intent is to create a constant visual
conversation with the observer. “If a person has an emotional
connection to my work,” she says, “I feel that I have achieved my goal
as a painter.”
Commissioned paintings and murals are welcomed. Classes and private instruction available.
